Outsourcing customer support for a small business: what it costs and how it works
If your support queue is run by whoever is free, it's costing you customers. A dedicated outsourced support team is cheaper than the first US hire and runs to a standard you can inspect. Here is how it works.
What gets outsourced first
Phone and email support, order and account questions, scheduling, intake, tier-1 helpdesk, retention and win-back calls. Anything repeatable and documentable. Judgement calls and escalations stay with you until the team has earned them.
How a team is built
Scope the role and the volume. We recruit against the standard, you interview and approve. Training on your product, tone and escalation policy before live work. Then daily QA against a scorecard and weekly reporting on volume, handle time, resolution and CSAT where you measure it.
Hours, tools and security
Your market's hours, including evenings and weekends if the queue needs it. Your tools: helpdesk, phone system, CRM. NDA for anyone with data access, role-limited access, revoked on offboarding.
What it costs
Per dedicated specialist per month, management and QA included, quoted after a scoping call. Smaller than the loaded cost of one domestic hire and scalable up or down monthly.
